Black rice

U.S. scientists have found that black rice – prevents inflammation that is responsible for allergies, asthma and other diseases. Black rice bran suppress the production of histamine, a substance in the body, causing internal inflammation.

They tested the effect of the extract of black rice in skin inflammation in laboratory mice. When biologists injected the extract into the diet of rodents, it reduced inflammation of the skin by about 32 percent, and reduced production of certain substances that promote inflammation.

The action of the extract of brown rice produced no such effects, experts say U.S. Department of Agriculture. When the researchers fed mice diets, containing 10% bran, black rice, they have decreased swelling associated with allergic dermatitis, a common type of skin irritation. According to experts, white rice has valuable anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic food ingredients and can be used as a therapeutic agent for treatment and prevention of diseases associated with chronic inflammation.
